Mr. Monkey’s favourite sighting was probably the “Zeila”. While travelling along the Skeleton Coast, which is the northern part of the coast of Namibia they discovered lots of shipwrecks.

The coast is littered with shipwrecks! The Zeila was a fishing trawler owned by Hangana Fishing
in Walvis Bay. On August 25, 2008, after being sold for scrap metal to a company in Bombay

India, it was being towed when it came loose from the towline and was stranded on the
shoreline of Henties Bay.

The government allowed it to remain because it had been cleared of any harmful contaminants, and became a designated bird nesting sanctuary.

Mr. Monkey is also learning about all the technology used to help the runners stay connect with students at home and to track where they run. Everything gets plugged in with portable power units to help recharge while the runners sleep.
